Our First Teeth are In

We finally got our first tooth. It sure has been very painful with a few sleepless nights. We have been chewing on anything and everything for days (mom says it seems like weeks). Here are pictures of us after church last Sunday. We don't really show off our teeth yet so look for another picture to come later on. We might even have more teeth by then.

38 Weeks

I have been working on crawling for the past month. I started rocking and it took me at least 2 weeks just to get my knees up under me. Then I learned to get my self to a sitting position and finally I got it all together. I still don't go very far without sitting and resting for a bit. Mom is real happy about that.
Here are a couple of the places that I found that are fun to play in.

Connor doesn't really even try to crawl but he sure can get around. Here is a picture of him following me in our play area.

Christmas Pictures

Here is a slideshow of our favorite photos from the Christmas Photoshoot. These were done almost a month ago now and Brinker-Freed Photography met us on the grounds of the University of Tampa. Dad and Connor were getting sick again and Ellie was trying to feel better. It was the most humid day but that humidity sure helped with curls. Enjoy!

We are 8 Months Old

Connor is still not quite well so I guess he is letting me go first trying to crawl. After a week I can almost get my legs under me but I keep going backwards. Here is a picture of me in my crib practicing. I have been practicing a lot instead of napping and mommy is not too happy about that.

Connor is working on standing instead. Here is a picture of him holding on to daddy's head.
Two weeks ago Connor started saying "ba ba ba" and mommy thought it was the prettiest sound she ever heard. She would just look at daddy and grin. So I decided this week that I would start with "ma ma ma". Boy you should see how happy mommy is now that we are both speaking.
We are practicing on "da da da" just to keep everyone happy.

Thanksgiving

It was our first Thanksgiving and Grandma came to visit. Mom cooked all day and we tried to stay out of the way and even napped like we were supposed to. Here is a picture of all of us at the table. We got some turkey, potatoes and cranberry served in a glass dish. This was the first time that we sat at the table with our trays and everything.

Here is Ellie with her baby spoon that Grandma made. This is the first time that we have been given spoons and Ellie knew just what to do; well almost. Mom let us play with our food and everything. There is a close up picture of our silver spoons from Grandma; aren't they pretty?

I, Connor, was still not feeling so well due to the antibiotics for this ear infection. It has been a month since we first got sick. I can't wait to be over this. Mommy says that she is enjoying the cuddle times that I give her when I don't feel so good. Maybe I will humor her some when I feel better.

33 Weeks

We have been sick since Halloween and dad got it too. First Ellie was really sick vomiting up all of her food and it was coming out the other end too. Mom and Dad had to feed her little sips every five minutes for days. Here is a picture of Ellie sipping her formula out of a glass because she didn't like the syringe that the doctor suggested. She got also got two earaches and had to go to the dr office for 3 days to get antibiotic shots.

Our family photo shoot was planned for last Saturday and first the a/c went out and it was so hot and humid. Then dad started getting the intestinal portion of this bug and mom was at the drugstore in the middle of the night for medicine. We woke up to rain and this was to be an outdoor shoot. Mom was melting trying to put on her makeup and dad wasn't feeling so hot - it was kinda crazy at our house. Little did I know that I was getting this stuff too.

We drove thru rain to get to the grounds of the University of Tampa and we couldn't believe it but the skies were clear. Of course it was really hot and humid now. Here is a picture of Ellie in her little red shoes for her Christmas outfit. We survived taking the pictures and mom seems happy with them too. While we are waiting for the pictures, the photographers posted a collage on their webpage: http://www.brinkerfreedphotography.blogspot.com/ You will probably have to scroll down a bit to find our stuff.

Hopefully every one will be well soon.

Our first Halloween

We had a big Halloween playdate party today and we both woke up with colds. Well, we really didn't sleep last night. Mommy decided to let us go and just not play with any of the other kids because we were having our pictures professionally taken at the party. We can't wait to see what those pictures turned out like.

Ellie has decided that she might start smiling for the camera. We don't really have costumes this year but I have a ghost outfit and Ellie has a mummy like outfit.

We came home from the party and slept the rest of the afternoon. When dad got home from work we walked around the neighborhood and saw some of of our other twin friends.

30 Weeks

Look mom, I can sit up all by myself. I can play with my toys and see things from a new perspective. When I get tired I am not too sure what to do so mostly I just fall over and play with new things. Ellie can't sit up by herself yet. She bounces around too much and doesn't sit still so she just falls over. Mom and dad got us this cool play mat but we like to roll off and see how long it takes them to come move us again.

No more swaddles

We have been in our swaddles since birth. Around 2 1/2 months we were only in our swaddles for nite - nite time. For the last couple of months we have been breaking out of our swaddles in the middle of the night. Some nights Ellie gets all tangled up and cries for mom to come get it off of her. I, myself, learned to flip over to my side in my swaddle. I think mom finally decided that she was tired of getting up every night between 2 and 4 am so no more swaddles.

We now have sleep sacks. Here were are in our sleep sacks.

We can now roll all over our cribs in our sleep sacks. I have been having fun in my sleep sack and wake up tired each morning. I am really quiet so mom doesn't know that I am playing all night. Ellie likes to sleep so she is a good girl.

29 weeks

Here we are 29 weeks old sitting in our bumbo chairs. We can almost sit up on our own but still need someone there to keep us from falling too hard and bumping our heads. We are rolling all over. We like to roll to each other and "share" our toys but Connor likes to play with my hair and he pulls hard. Mom is trying to teach him gentle.

Connor scootches on his tummy and I scootch on my back. Mom says that it is amazing how fast we can get from one side of our play mat to the other. We also "feel" things with our feet. That means that we must kick whomever is closest to let them know we are there. Oh the joys.

We are teething like crazy but mom hasn't seen narry a tooth. In this picture we both are chewing on our razzberries, which is some teething thing that feels great and looks like a raspberry pacifier. We will also chew on anything and everything that comes close to our hands. Stay tuned for teeth.

Trip to Yellowstone

We flew across the country to Bozeman, Montana for 10 days of vacation near Yellowstone County. It was a long flight and Connor didn't want to sleep but we made it. The next day we drove down to the timeshare in Island Park, Idaho which is near famous flyfishing waters and dad got to fish. Grandma and her sisters joined us for the week. Here we are at Yellowstone in front of an errupting Old Faithful.
To see more pictures of our trip click here.
There are not too many pictures because Mom and Dad were always holding us and never had a camera handy. They even took the video camera and never even got it out. Go figure. Hopefully Grandma and Aunt Louise will send us a few more pictures when they get home.

6 Months

Here we are with our new books. Ellie read so much that it put her to sleep just like it does mom. As for me, I am just getting started. I find that chewing the book helps me to learn about the dinosaurs.

Well we are now 6 months old and got some more shots this week. I weighed in at 17 lbs 15 oz and Ellie weighed 15 lbs 5 oz. Mom was sure glad that I only gained 1 pound this month instead of two. I measured 27 inches long and Ellie was only 1/4 inch longer. People still say that she looks longer than me but I have a bigger head :)

BenhamTwins for President!

Here we are contemplating all of the world troubles. Connor decided to take a break and chew on Ellie's toes. This is his way of thinking about the next problem. Mom and dad don't let us "watch" tv but we sure hear all of this stuff and we can't wait for election day to come and go.

In the meantime, here is a harmless plug:

24 Weeks

Well it has been 24 weeks since we were born; almost 6 months now. Today mom decided to show me how to use my sippy cup. I could hold it with both hands and drink all by myself and that was cool. The other day dad let me sip from a straw and that was fun too. Mom has to watch what he is letting me drink - no wheat beer until one because wheat might cause allergies.

Sissy tried too but she thought it was a fun, new toy.

23 Weeks

We went to the aquarium on Saturday with mom and dad. Connor enjoyed looking at all of the fish and wildlife and I (Ellie) thought it was very relaxing and had a nap. Here we are with dad after lunch, sitting under the misters. The outdoor water area is awesome. We can't wait to get bigger and enjoy more stuff. I may think about staying awake next time.

Since we are considering rolling over, Mom and Dad decided that we probably should loose the swaddles at night. Connor thinks this is okay but I am not too sure about it. On top of that we are both trying to get a tooth and that requires much drooling, crankiness and general overall irritability. Don't tell Mom, but she has a new gray hair.

Other pictures

Here is the picture Mom took on her cell phone of me and sissy in our swim suits. I must say that it is not a very flattering picture. Of course when I (Connor) smile at the camera, Sissy never wants to smile. Can't you see, I finally got tired of smiling.

Here is a picture taken by a friend of Grama Cecile's when we were in Tennessee. Her name is Jennifer and she gave us our favorite lovies. Don't we just look like angels, especially when we are sleeping?

5 Months Old

We are 5 months old today. Here we are looking at each other from a whole new perspective. We both want to be sitting up more and looking at the world. Connor figured out rolling from tummy to back overnight and still surprises himself. Ellie has been rolling to her side for quite sometime but hasn't quite figured out the rest of the way; though she tries hard. Ellie finds her hands most interesting and just sits and stares at them as if they are the most magical thing in the world. It is quite precious to watch.
